Over the past few decades, major degradations of coral reefs have been observed worldwide, which is largely attributed to the effects of climate change and local stressors related to human activities. Now more than ever, characterizing how the environment shapes the dynamics of the reef ecosystem (e.g., shifts in species abundance, community changes, emergence of locally adapted populations) is key to uncovering the environmental drivers of reef degradation, and developing efficient conservation strategies in response. To achieve these objectives, it is pivotal that environmental data describing the processes driving such ecosystem dynamics, which occur across specific spatial and temporal scales, are easily accessible to coral reef researchers and conservation stakeholders alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Les r\u00e9cifs coralliens, qui abritent des r\u00e9seaux complexes d&#8217;esp\u00e8ces marines, sont parmi les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes les plus diversifi\u00e9s de la plan\u00e8te . Au cours des derni\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies, des d\u00e9gradations majeures des r\u00e9cifs coralliens ont \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9es au niveau mondial. Ces d\u00e9gradations sont largement attribu\u00e9es aux effets du changement climatique et aux facteurs de stress locaux li\u00e9s aux activit\u00e9s humaines. Aujourd&#8217;hui plus que jamais, la caract\u00e9risation de la fa\u00e7on dont l&#8217;environnement fa\u00e7onne la dynamique de l&#8217;\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me r\u00e9cifal (par exemple, les changements dans l&#8217;abondance des esp\u00e8ces, les changements de communaut\u00e9, l&#8217;\u00e9mergence de populations localement adapt\u00e9es) est essentielle pour d\u00e9couvrir les causes environnementales de la d\u00e9gradation des r\u00e9cifs et d\u00e9velopper des strat\u00e9gies de conservation efficaces en r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 ces facteurs.
